Bella Sueños

A love story centered on the adventures of the sport fishing boat named, the BELLA SUENOS – (Beautiful Dreams). Set in the decade of the 1990’s, the novel is loosely based on the deep sea fishing experiences from various fishing captains throughout the world that the Author had the privilege of getting to know while spending many hours out on the oceans with these interesting characters, catching various sport fish such as Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, and Bullhead Dolphin.

Katie, a small-town Midwestern girl, had only one rule on the speedboat she owned on Sanford Lake, Michigan – “no fishing allowed”. Then one day she finds herself in Cozumel, Mexico, on a sport fishing boat catching her first sailfish with an American Captain named Ben, who becomes her best friend.

Because of this friendship, Katie is introduced to the world of deep-sea fishing adventures throughout various parts of the world. She becomes an expert angler. She meets an array of fishing captains, mostly from the U.S., who bring her into their worlds, some for a brief moment in time, and some for a lifetime. Throughout all her travels, Katie and Ben’s friendship takes many twists and turns. When Katie falls in love with Ben, he sees her as nothing but a friend.

When Ben finally falls in love with Katie, she is unable to feel anything more for him than the love that comes from many years of being a close friend. Yet through it all, their friendship never fails until Katie’s first true love from back home reappears into both of their lives.
